These terms govern your use of AltWoke. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them. AltWoke is a free platform; membership costs nothing while we grow.

Accounts

Accounts are pseudonymous and passwordless — you sign in with a magic link sent to your email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. One person may not operate accounts to evade moderation or rate limits.

Contributions

Community responses (Challenges, Add Evidence, Suggest Corrections) are pre-moderated: nothing appears until an editor approves it. You retain ownership of what you write and grant AltWoke a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute it on the platform. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you submit, and you must have the right to submit any source or quotation you include.

Acceptable use

AltWoke welcomes harsh, rigorous criticism of ideas, institutions, governments, religions, cultures, and public figures. It does not permit harassment of private individuals, threats, doxxing, spam, plagiarism, or incitement to violence. See our Community Standards for the full policy. We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that violate these terms.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made by AltWoke’s editors. AI is used to assist editors — drafting summaries, tags, and recommendations — but never publishes anything on its own; a human approves everything that reaches a reader.

Disclaimers & liability

AltWoke is provided “as is.” We work to keep the platform accurate and available but do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AltWoke is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Opinions expressed by writers and community members are their own.

Changes

We may update these terms as the platform evolves; material changes will be noted with an updated date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
